Hi there! If you are reading these lines, Google, Instagram, or any other (non-)virtual channel might have redirected you to my website! I am thrilled to welcome you here and excited about your interest in mental health and well-being, particularly in the workplace!
My name is Ilinca, and I am a psychologist and business coach specializing in helping leaders promote the mental well-being and health of their employees. Over the past 10 years, I have worked for global institutions fostering digitalized mental health solutions while pursuing a PhD in Psychology and coaching trainings simultaneously. My journey from academia to the tough business world has shown me the HUGE GAP we currently have between the scientific evidence on how to promote mental health in the workplace and the actual lack of available solutions implemented in organizations.
To give you some concrete numbers, globally, 15% of working-age adults live with a mental disorder1. Around 12 billion working days are lost every year to depression and anxiety, while US$ 1 trillion is lost to the globaly economy due to depression and anxiety, mostly from lost productivity2. It is anticipated that this number will increase to US$ 6 trillion by 20303. These costs involve healthcare expenses, lower productivity due to absenteeism and presenteeism (defined as attending work when ill), and the cost of millions being unable to participate in the workforce. Depression and anxiety are the most prevalent mental health challenges, representing the leading and sixth causes of disability around the world, respectively.
It’s Time for a Change: The Purpose Behind My Work & this Site
Considering these alarming statistics and prognostics, coupled with the imminent challenges of our time, such as global tensions and the integration of AI into our work lives, it is evident that a substantial positive change is overdue in the business world. Our workplaces need to transform into healthier and safer environments, empowering individuals to unlock their greatest potentials while maintaining mental and physical well-being. They should further serve as a valuable resource for support, offering assistance to those facing mental health challenges and providing opportunities for new paths to those on the journey of recovery from mental illness.
Championing this much needed transformative shift and delivering services to facilitate it is my overarching personal mission. Recognizing that collective change is a journey we embark on together, I am thrilled at the prospect of cultivating a global community of conscious, world-changing leaders dedicated to promoting mental health and well-being in their workplaces. By making a positive impact in the lives of their employees, we can collectively foster a healthier and more vibrant work environment.
If the idea of being part of this tribe resonates with you, feel free to drop me a message at any time, and I’ll be more than happy to connect with you! Meanwhile, feel free to explore the array of services I offer to support your efforts in fostering mental health within your organization, including coaching & consulting for leaders, workshops for your teams, and the growing online academy with lots of free online resources.
